With its 394 square kilometers, Brač is the most spacious of the Dalmatian islands. The island
is covered with the evergreen veil of maquis. There you will find liex, phillyera, arbutus,
juniper, pistachio, rosemary, heather and vines. The climate of Bol has all the characteristics
of a distinctive Mediterranean climate or the so-called "olive" climate: long, hot and dry
summers and short, mild and rainy winters. During the cold part of the year, the south warm
wind (SE, "jugo") and the northern cold wind (NE, "bura") take turns. During summer the circulation
of air is weaker. The refreshing wind "maestral" blows from the sea (NW) starting in the afternoon
till the evening. In the evening from the hills of Brač there comes a pleasant breeze called
"burin" (NE). Brac belongs to the sunniest Adriatic zone with over 2 700 hours of sunshine
per year. The sun shines form 9 - 12 hours daily on average during the summer. The temperature
of the sea from May to October is as folows:
| Brac | May | June | July | August | Sept. | Oct. |
| 18,00 | 20,00 | 22,00 | 22,5 | 21,5 | 22,2 |
